What I have to say....
I think Podcasting might be a great tool to bring into the classroom. I think podcast would be a good way to build listening comprehension as well as to assess the information they have to say. This is a good way to hear what weak writers have to say...without fighting with them to complete a writing assignment.

That is an interesting idea Heather. Have student, create Podcasts instead of writing assignments. Obviously you could not totally replace writing, and students would in theory have to write somethings in the planning process. I am sure they would not hate it as much, and then you would really understand their knowledge.
